Vello Remote Shutter Cable Locks up D800

I use a Vello Free Wave Plus remote shutter release on my three Nikons. The system works fine on my D90 and my D610 with the correct cable for those cameras. I ordered a 10 pin Vello 2.5 cable for the D800 using the DC2 port but it locks up the camera. Any ideas why? Any Solutions?

There are reported issues if you look on line - not yours in particular. You can probably find more info with a detailed search. My Vello RS-N111 works perfectly on my D810, but that is a wired model. Good Luck with it!

Sorry to hear. I use the Vellow Shutter Boss 2 with the D810 & have no problems. Have you tried a product forum or contacting the manufacture?

Does the switch button slide forward to lock the mirror up? The one I use on my Pentax does this every once in awhile and drives me nuts until I remember to check it. Good luck.

There should be a special port on this model that allows 4 hookup? access cover on the side w/drawings on it should indicate that port.
