Well, grumbled about I am sure. But every one of these familiar things are pretty outrageous! I am sure that people can add their own.

Mark, ever so correct and I agree with the bottled water and ink cartridges being over the top.

National Geographic has a series called "Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller" that recently played an episode on "Scammers". It is well worth the 45-minutes to watch. Amazing was the segment of the investment scams in Tele Vive, Israel which steals billions of dollars through fraudulent investment firms. It is estimated that there are over 1,000 fake investment businesses in the city that operate worldwide there so be very careful should you chose to invest your savings for they look real....but they are far from it.

All true but just like any scam, no one is being forced to purchase any of these items at their outrageous prices. As they always say, something for sale is worth exactly what someone's willing to pay for it.

On the other hand, if we want to stay alive, we are forced to suffer ridiculous medical expenses which, in America, are the highest in the world.

I have tried to find a city called "Tele Vive" on Google maps without any success.

Thanks, of course "Tel Aviv" is what I intended to type. Of course my Better Half would tell you that what I intend to do and end up doing are often not the same.

Actually I was being sarcastic because I thought you were making fun of the OP. My bad. Sorry.

True, medical expenses are high in America for various reasons. But labeling an expensive medically correct treatment a scam is off base.
