Getting my husband to sit for me

I have had trouble getting my husband to sit for me as I am learning to photograph,although he sat long enough for me to take this.
I have wondered if I need to soften this a fraction although I like his wrinkles.
Opinions most welcome.

I'd brighten it a bit, but the texture is perfect - do not soften, IMO.

I actually like it as is, the darkness adds a certain mood to the shot. Your Husband looks allot like Nicholas Cage!!!
