Viera Wetlands (Florida) coming to life again.
sb
Loc: Florida's East Coast
There has not been a lot of activity since last spring at the Viera Wetlands (Brevard County - just South and West of Cape Canaveral) but things are picking up. Cooler weather with bright sunshine and cold weather up North brings the birds. We also have more alligators now - everyone brings their relatives from out of town to see the gators. By the afternoon they all seem to have eaten and want nothing more than a nap in the sun (the gators, I mean, but probably the relatives as well!).
Yesterday there were also little green herons, little blue herons, great blue herons, snowy egrets, great egrets, a red shouldered hawk, a roseate spoonbill, and more. And, it was a gorgeous day for a walk.
The neat thing about the Wetlands is that all of these animals are within 5-10 feet - they are used to humans walking by, and often don't take flight as you walk by.
An excellent set. Think I'd prefer staying away from the last one. Mahalo for sharing.
And then, came the big gator. Love the pictures. Linda
Great captures and rendering. Please stay safe and enjoy a Happy New Year.
I hope that last one was with a lo-o-o-o-ng lens
!!
Nice variety - you sure got some action going on down there! Joe
The last one looks like a big rock until you look closely. Very creative.

Judging by the last photo, Good thing they are full!
