Don't forget to check the date and update the copyright date in your camera(s).

Hadn't thought about the © date. Thanks. Have a Happy New Year.

Also, FYI, if you buy a used camera don't forget to change the copyright information! I just bought a camera from a friend, he was going mirrorless, took some shots and then said to myself, what the heck, why is Dan's name on my images? Ha! Ha!

Would not the date, in the metadata, of when the original photo was taken suffice as the copyright date?

It depends on who's looking at it and for what reason . . .

This may prove helpful:

Even books have both the official copyright AND the publication date. Copyright is a universally recognized standard.

I must have been living in a cocoon somewhere for the last two decades; this is the first time I've ever heard of updating the copyright date in my camera!
I'm shooting a Sony a77ii; how is this done? All help will be appreciated.

Steve Perry recently issued an excellent video on this very subject. He also explains the steps on how to do it on a Nikon camera and also what the format of the copyright should be. Check it out .

Thanks for the reminder, went into my Nikon and Sony bodies, just had to change the 0 to a 1 for 2021.
