Even the lousy weather couldn't put a dent in the majesty of these great birds!
They are such a regal, majestic bird. Thanks for sharing

You shooters are sure a great source of knowledge
Have a place in IN, 60 years. Big game area nearby. I go to take pictures. Guy is nearby, expensive binoculars. Sees my camera and asks if I was there for the bald eagles. My jaw dropped. Whaaaa!? I never knew! Then he tells me how to ID in flight. Some wing tip difference between them and turkey vultures. But I forgot,,,

Eagles soar with flat outspread wings, vultures soar with outspread wings in a "V".

Yes, Model 4. Just remember there are trade-offs to everything. The high zoom power of the bridges is a greatly reduced size of the sensor. Even with a 1" sensor they still need LOTS of light. One solution to that is a lot of time in PP. I've spent 10 years learning to live with this, and I do not regret my decision. I'd do it again. I've had the satisfaction of making a photo that someone is willing to pay several hundred for - I'm still in the hole. The help and advice from the good folks here on UHH have made a tough job much easier. What I enjoy the most, is being able to take the camera to any situation and know I have the proper lens in place. Know the limitations before putting out the bucks.
I often think about all of the small businesses having to shut down through this Pandemic. I can only hope you can all hang in there and survive,

Thanks for all the information. I'll probably get a less expensive one for hiking on Mt Rainier. That's when I would like having less weight.
I've had a vending business with my wife since 1993. At one point we had 6 employees. We semi-retired 6 years ago to just my wife and I doing some of our favorite events. We've been shut down since February with lots of inventory stored in our shop. We're making it with our SS checks, but need to open back up. Our savings are dwindling, but we will get thru this. It's been an adjustment almost stopping our discretionary spending, especially for camera equipment. But I'm happy with what I have.
I feel sorry for those that have trouble paying their rent or mortgage payments, and all those having trouble feeding their families. They are the ones suffering the most.

December 30 was just a plain wet, drizzly day.
Did you know? The beak of the female is curved down its full length. The beak of the male comes out fairly straight from the feathers before it curves down.
Great set! Many, many great sets of Bald Eagle shots this year! Thanx for sharing.
