Shot wood on the bank of the lake from a boat. Nikon D850, 70-200mm f/4 Nikkor, shot at 1/200th, f/13, ISO 2000, wide open at 200mm. Still working on being more conscious of settings afield. Even so, I haven't applied noise reduction, though I hope to return to this spot and shoot it during the fall again at better settings.

While you may not think this is a worthy photograph, I think it is great as is. Even though it is somewhat abstract, you can see that all brings the photograph together and has more meaning than a twig or bloom on a white background.

Seems as though you got it all together to me! On close examination, it is a bit "soft" - likely motion blur. A bit faster shutter speed and open it up to ƒ8 and you might find it crisper.

Thanks both of you. Yeah, I did shoot at 1/200 and had the VR on, but I was in a boat and possibly wave action resulted in slight softness. By the way, thanks very much for the compliment, Scruples, on the abstract quality. I do like the shot. I just want to show up next fall and possibly improve on it, but if that doesn't work out, this one remains interesting.
