I thought this was funny. I was offered a diet/exercise plan with a one-week free trial. After I entered my info, they asked how much I would give them for this free trial. They said it cost them $18.72 to give me this free week, and they would like something back. Funny!!!
Ahhhh, that would be a donation, not considered income (to them), not considered a "charge" (to you).
With that kind of accounting/marketing I'd turn right around also!

How have you never heard that,
THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH!!!!??
It could have saved you soooo many keystrokes.
Yes Jerry, I came across the same deal. I passed.
That reminds me of a joke.
When inquiring about the cost of rooms at a motel I asked the difference between the two prices of $165 & one for $180,the clerk said both rooms were identical except the one for $180 came with the free TV !

A college professor once told a class I was in, "there is no free lunch in America, you have to listen to that guy for an hour before they feed you."

They sent me a reminder email today, and I clicked on Unsubscribe.

Sometimes that "free TV" can be worth the charge.
TANSTAAFL
There aint no such thing as a free lunch.
I find that unsubscribe is not recommended. When you reply to "unsubscribe" and they ask for your email address to unsubscribe you, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. But, what they certainly will do is distribute your email to other marketers as a "live email address". You will get all sorts of new, unsolicited spams. Wonder where they got your address from? Hmmm?
Just delete them or flag them as spam.
In my humble opinion.
I tag a significant number of emails as phishing scams, that way the ISP can start blocking them for everyone.
