Congratulations on your learning experience! That selective color comes in handy. I like it!

For this photo I like the color version but, For what you wanted to do the B&W + color is good also.

Nice. If asked I like #2 but it is almost a draw.

We went fishing on Rogers Lake yesterday and I took this shot. I really wanted to learn how to have a b&w shot with just one thing in color....was able to stay home last evening long enough to figure it out in Photoshop.....was pretty easy once I took the time to play!

What do ya think....and which one do you like better?

Both are technically good. But I don't really see the point of highlighting a B&W shot with one thing in colour.

I really like number 2 with the black and white. But I wonder if you could go back to do it all in black and white, opening up the shadows a bit and maybe darkening the sky a little; basically make a more dramatic black and white and THEN add the red fishing shanty.

But just as important, how was the fishing?

Really nicely done. I've never done that. When I was making chemical prints, I would hand-tint them, and I really enjoyed doing that. But I've never done it on the computer.

I like both but the B&W with the red tent pops out. Nice job. I agree that a slightly more dramatic sky would add increased interest. Overall it’s an interesting treatment.

Both are nice but #2 has much more interest to me.

The first one - after the "Download" first click. It focuses better on the important part of your image.
Nice shot Cindy.
Cheers!

Very nice images!!! Cindy
I would like to see the image as a B&W in Quad tone and a little drama in the sky. Something else to do in your spare time.

I will play some more with the sky and see what I can come up with. I am not sure how to bring out the drama in the sky though...google here I come!! I bet I can find some tutorials on it.
