This osprey flew from my Lanai screen to the cypress tree and then off again.
A good looking bird in my opinion.

Good shots, but maybe not an Osprey.

I can confirm this is an osprey, or fish hawk,as they are called.

Per Google Lens (image search function on my Android phone) its a red-tailed hawk.

Great shot Joe, but it's a red tailed hawk. Very common around here, as are ospreys, but the osprey has white striped on its head.

I believe that it is a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk.

Nice but it doesn't look like an Osprey to me.

It is not an Osprey, it isn't a red-tailed either, the second photo shows the tail pretty well and it isn't red. I believe after looking at my field guide that it is a young red-shouldered hawk.

I don't know what kind of a doctor you are, Joe, but I'll wager you don't have
a Phd in ornithology!

It IS true I am no bird expert. This is a hawk. Thanks for correcting me.
