After enjoying a Christmas day I decided to head out for a walk along a local river. Turned out to be a fun morning. I always enjoy it when a Belted Kingfisher shows up, hope you enjoy. There were a few other birds around that helped finish off the day.

From the look of things, that kingfisher probably could have swallowed the branch it was sitting on too. Nice pictures of the fauna around the river! That merganser doing the river-walk is especially nice!

All those pics are superb, but the Kingfisher catch and eat sequence is really special.

Thanks, I saw her sitting on a branch but missed her diving in the water. They are really fast , glad she came back to the branch to eat.
