I'm getting ready to buy a new quality printer. Should I buy the older Pro100 or the newer Pro200? Is the quiluty the same ? Bettsr yet is the 200 a workhorse like the 100? I understand the 100 is discontinued. Not a concern. I can still buy one from Canon. Hope to hear from several folks soon.

Indeed $ count also the availability of aftermarket inks which $aves a lot of $$$.
I have a Canon 9000 which when 9100 came out dropped to a ge-it-off-the-shelf $50 vs suggested $200
[$180 typical market]
Product was the same only sorta a little different grayblue vs gray and price... print results unseeable

The new improved 9100 had a bluegray 5th color vs a gray for the 9000; all other specifications were the same. The 9000 is doing fine with aftermarket low-cost inks.

The big change was the change in their pocket... money change... there is a world of people who must have the newest and also there is a period of time when Canon gets to sell expensive inks.

I have two 100's and a new 200. The 100's are very good printers but I believe I will like the 200 much better.
