Hey From the Missouri Ozarks

Been taking pictures as long as I can remember, but consider it a hobby. Technically illiterate, but am a fan of aim and shoot. Began to get serious with my photography while in the Air Force and stationed overseas on the island of Crete. Returned to the states in the early 80s and stopped taking pictures for many years. Lived on the beach in Biloxi MS for 25 years, Katrina survivor (although she did do a number on my life, I was one of the lucky ones) and a year after the storm, I retired from the VA Hospital System and moved to south central Missouri. 3/4 of the year, love it here...the other 1/4, would rather be back in Biloxi! Big fan of the fall season and being here in MO there are so many wonderful places to visit and photograph. Looking to learn as I go. A high school friend (Class of 68!) referred this site to me and I so appreciate that she did. Constructive criticism welcomed, tips from the experts appreciated! Thanks - Jeff

I can see why that would be a favorite...I LOVE it. Your life, though very different from mine has some major similarities. I lived in the Ozarks (near Springfield, MO) just before I came to Alaska this last summer. I visited Greece (in particular spent some time on Crete), lived in Biloxi as a baby (but taught teachers there for a while one fall) AND am very much an amateur photographer...so WELCOME to a similar newbie with lots of same places history at least.

wow, i guess we do have a few things in common! thanks for the welcome. looks like it can be a very helpful site, i can learn, but it's the retaining that scares me!
