Sorry, it's an old term for an internet link which is designed to link you to another sight just by clicking on the link. It is now commonly called a "hypertext" link or reference. Old computerese is a dying language.

I thought so and would say https is also a hot link except on this forum where it regulates them to text. Either way I've learned to copy and paste leaving the format the same. Thanks again.

Sorry, did not mean to infer https was wrong. The "s" indicates a secure site. You are absolutely correct when you state that is only this forum's rules that will not allow https to post as a valid hyperlink.
