I'm a country boy. Always have been. But I must say that I enjoyed "touring around the Apple" with you, Joe. For a budding Agoraphobic like me, it was the best way to experience NYC. Thanx and Merry Christmas.

Thank you Barry - I am a bit of both, having grown up in tiny but very interconnected communities in my native Switzerland during the first 20 years, but then actually live in, or around, some of the major cities of the world - I can and do appreciate both, think that probably the best set is to live in a small community but within not too distant a reach of a sizeable city (say an hour or so) that provides the extra services if and when needed. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed "touring around the Apple" with me through this travelogue. Wishing you a Joyful Christmas as well - Joe

Wow, again, quite the display of lights, Joe! I like the compositions. Never having been to The Big Apple, your many photos have been an inspiration to put a visit higher up on my To Do List. Wish you a Merry Xmas and all the best for the New Year.

Thank you John, always like to read your comments! I am glad that I could show you something you have not yet visited, New York is definitely at one of its best moments to visit in the Advent days leading up to Christmas - give it a try one of these years. Wishing you a joyful Christmas and Happiness in the New Year - Joe

My penultimate set of images from New York City brings us to the streets surrounding the famous Radio City Music Hall, part of the Rockefeller Center as well as some of the buildings on the West side of 6th Avenue, depicted here with beautiful and imaginative Christmas decorations.

RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL
Radio City Music Hall is an entertainment venue at 1260 Avenue of the Americas, within the Rockefeller Center. Nicknamed the Showplace of the Nation, it is the headquarters for the Rockettes, the precision dance company. Radio City Music Hall was designed in the Art Deco style.
Radio City Music Hall was built on a plot of land that was originally intended for a Metropolitan Opera House, although plans for the opera house were canceled in 1929. It opened on December 27, 1932, as part of the construction of Rockefeller Center. The 5,960-seat Music Hall was the larger of two venues built for Rockefeller Center's "Radio City" section, the other being Center Theatre. It was largely successful until the 1970s, when declining patronage nearly drove the Music Hall to bankruptcy. Radio City Music Hall was designated a New York City Landmark in May 1978, and the Music Hall was restored and allowed to remain open. The hall was extensively renovated in 1999.
One of the more notable parts of the Music Hall is its large auditorium, which was the world's largest when the Hall first opened. The Music Hall also contains a variety of art. Although Radio City Music Hall was initially intended to host stage shows, it hosted performances in a film-and-stage-spectacle format through the 1970s, and was the site of several movie premieres. It now primarily hosts concerts, including by leading pop and rock musicians, and live stage shows such as the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The Music Hall has also hosted televised events including the Grammy Awards, the Tony Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, and the NFL Draft.

Please note that all of these images were captures handheld, without the use of a tripod or monopod.

This "almost" ends my short presentation on a few quaint corners in Westchester county and then on a few spots in exciting New York City. I will add one more ultimate post tomorrow, to continue with my recently started tradition to close a travelogue series with a retrospective of the main highlights covered during this tour. That final post will contain one picture from each of the 10 episodes with the highest # of visitor writing a comment.

Beautiful composition and lighting, Joe. You have a good eye for your photos. I really enjoyed the bare trees showing sparkly lights and a hint of what is beyond.
Your travelogue makes a visit to NYC during this time of Advent very appealing.
