My Tamron 150-600 G2, purchased just a few months ago, has developed an issue with the zoom ring. It had been working smoothly until just a few days ago and now is quite hard to turn. Any quick fixes out there? Warrantee issue? (I did not drop, bang or mishandle it.)

I would contact Tamron and see if they have any suggestions for you. If not, send it in. It should be under warranty if you purchased it new just a few months ago. If it's not under warranty I would still send it in so that they can tell you what is wrong with it and how much it will cost to fix.

I assume it is under warranty and even not, I would send it in to Tamron for service.

Is there a possibility that you are inadvertently partially locking the focal length? I've done that more than once and swore it was the lens, not me. Wrong.

Same here.
Check the locking mechanism.

Remember, the zoom ring incorporates a push/pull flex lock at any zoom setting. Have also done myself a few times and can hopefully cause the same issue you are seeing. Good luck!

Tamron has a 6 year warranty and you just go online and contact them about your issues. I have sent in two over many, many years. One of them was over 5 years old. Tamron is excellent in customer service and will totally take care of you and your lens.

Make sure the zoom ring is fully positioned for zooming. If it is not firmly seated, it will behave as you described.

I had the same problem, looked the lens over and found that I had inadvertently moved the lock button. Prior to that I didn’t know it even had the lock switch.

Tamron's 6 yr. warranty is great. 5 weeks before my warranty expired, I contacted Tamron and indicated I thought the focus was a bit blurry (true) and I was told to send it in and back it came within a reasonable time like new.

That's what I said yesterday. The OP hasn't come bac to his post, so we may never know if he checked into my suggestion.

If he had it in the "lock" position, the zoom ring would not move at all.
