I heard this was coming over a month ago, and it was confirmed today. With my daily report of what mail I'm getting today came a big red note. The PO is getting slammed with more packages than usual, and they have a reduced work force, so we can expect delays. Like hospital workers, those who work for the PO are being asked to do more with fewer resources. At least death isn't a regular occurrence in the postal system.

Why, when they know they're going to have an onslaught of work, are they short on help. Thousands are out of work, and they are short on help? That doesn't make sense.

Please stop the negative view of life for your own well being and the state of mind of the rest of us. It seems like you lead a ‘doom and gloom’ life with every post either a problem or complaint. Think positive thoughts, for your own benefit. I no longer feel sympathy but genuine worry about your state of mind. I suggest more time on the ukelales and less on the computer.

Doesn’t a local post office require budget authorization before they can hire temp or permanent workers?

They can't just hire people willy-nilly (government term). Remember when that guy removed PO boxes and canceled overtime? He's not about to approve hiring more people. He was saving the tax payer money.

I guess it’s be cause people have to be pro-active to find jobs, jobs don’t find people.

I mailed a package via priority mail from Colorado to Idaho 3 weeks ago and it still hasn’t arrived.

Post Office is a private business - does not have any money support from taxes - so he's not saving any tax payer money... It's the typical bean counter mentality - raise the profits, lower the costs...

I often have a quick chat with our local Posties, but yesterday one of them said "Sorry Alan got to go, we are snowed under, beside's they have location device's on our Uniforms to see if we are stopping in one place too long"...big brother is watching you!
