In late August I posted a request for input on which fishing-related pic to submit to a contest wiht a "fishing theme" ... submitted three shots and this one was selected as the winner for the Prairies Region (one of 5 winning photos from across Canada) :) My very first win for anything photo-related :):)
Thanks again to all who provided feedback (this was the favourite of those I posted here at that time).
"Fishing Theme" Winner
Congrats!! That is definitely a winner and a wall hanger!!
Congrats, nice fireplace photo... Not to burn to hang above the fireplace.

Thanks ... I will try to remember not to drop in fireplace, though winter is fast approaching (with those increased heating bills) so you never know how desperate we'll get up here :) Snow expected tonight, and tomorrow night is supposed to be the first "killing frost" (sub zero temp.) for the coming winter ... oh joy :(

We have one more day of nice weather, tomorrow I am out in the fresh air for one more fall shoot! I am not that far south of Canada .... That must be where our cold front is coming from..... Could I talk you into keeping it for a bit longer???? :P

To be perfectly honest, I prefer winter, so I would keep it here if I could. Just have to make mental note to get switched over to winter tires soon, find the snow brush for the car, switch to winter floor mats, dig out the extension cords for plugging in the cars, find my gloves/mitts (they always seem to disappear over the summer), switch to winter windshield washer fluid, etc. ... gee, I wonder if I can print this out as a checklist? :)
Congratulations, that is very exciting!
