back in Oct 2020 I purchased a Canon 100-400 lens.
The seller had a great rating and said that the lens was going/was shipped from Israel. I was to receive the lens by Nov 5 or there about.
I kept checking the tracking info and all it showed was that it was in transit. By the end of Nov i contacted ebay and told them I hadn't heard from the seller and the tracking info never changed.
They opened a case and then put the case on hold until Dec. 14.
Today i received a email from them saying they ruled in my favor and returned all of my money and the case was closed.
All I can say is thank you for your service.
You should play the lottery....

This has happened to me several times with Paypal. They are the best. I use Paypal whenever I can, not just on ebay, because I trust their policy of refunding the price paid plus postage if something is not as advertised.
sometimes it works! Happy you got your money back!

EBay stands by u. I always use PayPal for that reason alone.
I watched a National Geographic investigative program this week called "Scams" and I was surprised to learn that Tel Aviv, Israel is the world's largest center of financial fraud. It is estimated that there are over 1,000 fraudulent businesses in the city that scam investors and others over the internet.
I imagine that the Nigerian Ex-Minister of Finance better be careful who he contacts to send the millions of dollars that he is trying to get out of the country for he may be scammed.

It may be just coincidence, but Tel Aviv has a large (and growing) population of Russian (Jewish) immigrants. There are neighborhoods there where shop signs are written in only the Cyrillic alphabet (rather than Hebrew).

That would be funny - scammer vs scammer.
Got burned by eBay one time, that was all it took. Don't go there anymore.

BUT, ebay will refund your money if you don't get your order or it is not as described.

You provide no details. Did you appeal? Request intervention.
In my experience - E-Bay Always favors the customer. Always.
Pissed me off once as a seller when a college student complained she didn't receive the book I'd sent.
Tracking showed it was delivered to her college post office, and I never received the book back.
But E-Bay sent her $$$ back - and billed me for it - including shipping.
When selling after that, I always required a signature. And the customer pays for that.
