Nikon Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 Ai-s Lens

About 5 years ago, I got this lens off of ebay for $125. I wasn't sure if I would like shooting macro, so I took a chance on a old beat-up lens. This copy has been great! I have taken hundreds of pictures with this lens and extension tube. Feel free to look at my posts in the true macro section.

I just picked up a new 105 in a package deal, so I'm letting this on go.

The focus ring is hard to turn at lower temperatures
The filter ring is bent
There are spots/dirt/fungus on the inside glass

$100 plus shipping or pick up in Richmond, VA

Wow. If someone is more concerned with making a pleasing image, rather than having a pristine lens, this is quite a value. It's 12% the cost of a new one! If you feel that the images i made with this lens are "JUNK", please enlighten me to how they could be better.

Not really in the market for the lens but just wanted to say that the images are really great.

Used on eBay are generally 2 or more times the price of this one, so if someone wants to give it a try to see how they like shooting Micro, this could be a very workable solution. It's also a great focal length for use as a portrait lens. I suspect that despite the warts which have been described, it will take some decent shots as illustrated in the listing. I have the same lens and like it a lot.

Very nice shots. Good luck with sale. One great feature with lenses like your's is that they can be opened up and cleaned/lubed without fear of bricking the "focus stack" like with modern AF-S and AF-P Nikon. I don't have that lens, but do have a pristine old Nikkor f2.8 100mm E-lens that has sat in my armoir for some time, I just repurposed an old/like new Minolta Bellows 3 SR($30), modified/canibalized a cheapie close up tube to mount the Nikkor to the MC/MD mount, added a $12 adapter so my E-mount Sony mates, and it works like a charm, very sharp/easy to use. The whole affair cost very little, allowed me to enjoy a lo-budget DIY project, repurpose a bellows and lens, and it makes excellent images....now I just need to hone my micro/macro skills and try to make some shots like yours..

This is a great demonstration of how silly it is to obsess over dust and minor imperfections on a lens element. Perfect images can come from an imperfect lens. Bargains abound because of buyers who don't realize.

Fabulous images, Curve.
