It's long past time for states to increase their minimum hourly wage from the Federal minimum of $7.25 to a more realistic Living Wage.
Some states are using a sliding annual increase towards $15.00, while those who border them remain at the historical low Federal hourly rate.
No one can support themselves or their family on $7.25 per hour, especially if the job is only part-time without benefits!
The C****av***s P******c exposed the failings of our current Healthcare System in the United States! Those who lost their jobs, subsequently lost their Healthcare insurance, and are the most vulnerable to becoming infected. Food pantries can't keep up with the demands for desperately needed food for those who lost their jobs due to no fault of their own.
The greed of large businesses and corporations have suppressed wage increases.
Many in Congress are beholden to corporate donations and lobbyists to keep them in office. The big business arm twisting is a lucrative money maker for Congressional members!
It's the main reason we still have #MoscowMitch and "McConnellism", while "we the people" suffer because those we elected are doing the bidding of the financial elite!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I hold a College Degree, and I make considerably more than the minimum hourly wage.
Nearly 5 times the minimum hourly rate!
Yes, Hourly.
When you work contract or temporary jobs, you're paid on an hourly basis.
Remember I stated that employers are trying to avoid paying benefits, so they rely heavily on contract or temporary employees instead of direct hire employees! This has been the case since at least the 2008 Bush Recession.
It's been 8+ years since I've enjoyed the pleasure of being a direct hire employee, but it's not like I haven't been applying to and interviewing for direct hire positions. But reality sets in, and you have to accept a suitable contract or temporary position to keep the money flowing, and the creditors off your back.
I can happily state that I don't have any outstanding debt, and I haven't for well over a year now.
