This evening we drove through a large display of Christmas lights set up at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. There are over 70 different displays. My intent was to try and photograph some of these displays, however we were restricted from getting out of the car, so I had to shoot from the car through the open window. I had to delete several shots as the movement ruined them. I did manage a few that turned out ok. I was using my iPhone 11. I tweaked each one a little using the Apple Photos software, for some sharpness and definition.
You did good Greg.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.
SemperFi,
Jim
Nice work with the phone!

Thank you jaymatt. It was hard to get it done properly because we weren’t allowed to get out of the car, so I had to do it the best I could. I had to toss several others.
So after the light show, we went to one of the lady’s house for muffins and coffee with Bailey’s Irish Creme. She has her upstairs deck decorated with lights, and the combination of the snow laying on the lights and the designs it made on one of the chairs was intriguing, so I stepped outside to take a couple shots. I was in my stocking feet, so I wasn’t about to take a walk in the snow. I edited both shots for sharpness and definition, and I cropped them both to eliminate the arms of the other chairs that were distracting. Tell me which one of the two you prefer or think is better. Each has a slightly different perspective. Also, in the first shot, what appears to be stars is dust on the window! Which is why I opened the door to tkae the second shot. I didn’t notice that until just now. Just an experiment.

Well done!

Thank you, Dave. It was fun, and all too short. They wouldn’t let us go around for a second tour. Fun stuff.
Good job of getting those from the car. Were you stationary or moving when you took the shots?

Great work, especially under the circumstances. Really enjoy it.
I really like the top photo of the chair. In the second photo the chair just sticks out too much, kind of a “in your face” thing. To me.
Both photos, as the Christmas lights photos, are excellent.

Thank, Fstop. I started out trying to get them while moving slowly because I didn’t want to hold up other cars. The results were not good, so I decided to stop just long enough to get a shot. The results were much better. At 7 degrees it was pretty cold sticking my hands out the window to get a shot!
