Moon, 12.85 pct. "craters shot"
Did you know?: At least in the northern hemisphere, the "horns" of a waxing (increasing), moon point to the east, while the "horns" of a waning (decreasing), moon point to the west.
D - O - C = shape of moon phases
Great photo!

Thanks for your comments, OneShot1.
Never thought of it, but makes sense. Can't fool mother nature...

Nice photo. At 84, in spite of Intellectual Interludes, can still learn new and interesting information. Thank You.

Thanks for the comment, Floyd. At 83 I'm often reminded of Dean Martin's famous quote, "If I knew I was going to live this long I'd have taken better care of myself".

Think how richly we've been blessed with all the advances we've seen during our lifetimes. Yesterday, I realized we've lived through 15 presidents, all the good things developed in the interim, survived all the bad things (natural and man-made) and we're still relatively sane and intellectually alert. If one knows Jesus and thus knows where and to whom he is going after death, one is very blessed!
Nice moon--has some character to it.

It works that way at the Equator and in the Southern Hemisphere, too. Nice shot!

Thanks, jaymatt. A case of the less light the more detail (up to a point).

These mega-zoom bridge cameras are amazing. Twenty years ago images like this were in the realm of telescopes a yard long. Now they come from something you hang around your neck.
