To everyone interested in the new Luminar AI Program...

A few days ago, I posted that one of the 'Beta Testers', for Luminar AI, Anthony Morganti, had announced that the software would be finally released on Dec 15th...

Two days ago, another 'Hogger' discovered that the 'Download Link' on his Skylum account for the Luminar AI was working and they put up a post to that effect...

Yes, I went and also downloaded the link, then installed the software, and I also registered the software when the application did prompt me to do so...... thinking I would have a working copy... WELL... I don't Know ????

After playing with it for a while, I came to the 'Menu System' in the upper left corner, and... It does NOT work... Try as I may, I click on the first icon, then the first menu level does appear BUT, it will NOT let me 'click' on or choose any of the first 4 or 5-second level menu items... What the HECK... ha ha ha

Yes, I have sent a message to Skylum Tech Support and am waiting for their response...

OH Well ?????????

Cheers

First issue - if you go into templates and apply one the edits then don't work. However if you go straight to edits the sliders all (so far) seem to work. Erase seems better too. Sky swap (sorry) works just fine too. BTW it's very fast.

Seem to be fast.. But then I have a 'top-end' machine...

BTW... Although I send an email to Tech Support... No Answer in 24 hours... NOT a promising Sign

I bought it early so I was given the opportunity to download it today. My Ai worked really good.

Laughs, always!

Since Luminar 3 they’ve had a terrible record of over promising and under delivering. They don’t listen to their customers and keep selling sizzle rather than steak. As an example, AI doesn’t support layers, users are having issues even installing especially on PCs. When asked about this in their FB group a skylum CS person actually asked why do we need layers. I’ve owned every product they put out since the MacPhun days, but based on issues with Luminar 3 and Luminar 4 I chose not to buy AI. As the saying goes, fool me once...

I am primarily a landscape shooter these days. I used Luminar 4 primarily as a plug-in to On1 only for quick edits being very careful to not overdo my edits which are really easy to do. If I was going to do a sky replacement (unlikely) they were a good option until the latest version of PhotoShop / LightRoom came out. They do a much better job than Luminar 4.

I figure they will be bought or close in 2021.

I pre-ordered Luminar AI months ago. Went to My Account, clicked on My Software, and Luminar AI was listed telling me it was ready to be downloaded. I haven't done so yet because I was on my PC but will download to my Mac, which I use for all photography software/post-processing.

I preordered months ago also, but don't see any download link on my accounts page.

YES,,,,,,,,, I just got the same notice, even though I did a download 3 days ago... haha

BUT, still have 'glitches' in the menu system, and now, this A.M., 48 hr after my email to Tech Support, I get an email that they are concerned ??? ha ha, and that I should use a 'screen recording' app which they provide, so that I can 'recreate the problem' and sent it to them.........

OK, Let see what they do

Cheers

I've been playing with it for a couple of hours and so far it's working fine (and it's fast). It does have layers but they have renamed the process "local masking". Definitely worth a try

The early birds (first 30,000) to order Luminar AI have received the download link. It was scheduled to be released to early birds on December 10th, and was released a day or two earlier.
The rest are scheduled to receive the link on December 15th.

So far, my Mac running Big Sur is running it just fine.
