Thanks Bill. When I saw the Eagles sitting behind bars my heart sank. Apparently they were sitting far enough back that that those bars virtually disappeared due to shooting wide open. That being 5.6 at 400mm. I think I was incredibly lucky here, because I seemed to have nailed the focus on all my shots. I did take a few of the pair, knowing I would not come even close to having them both in focus. Another shot here, full frame, with a closer crop. It really kind of blows my mind when I see this kind of detail in the eye.

Crows are just different. It must be how smart they are. You actually get the sense that they acknowledge you. I got hooked a couple years ago photographing one egret. Glad you like like these shots! Thanks Marg.
