Thinking and thinking

My wife always tells me I think too much. She may be right.

I am thinking of the Nikon D750 and doing my photography on an. iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Has anyone giving up their mirror less or DSLR for a camera phone?
And most importantly, do you miss it?

They are both cameras. The issue is what is your goal with the images you create. Largest size print, just view on D750 screen or IPhone screen, view on computer monitor?

When I see a scene that needs to be photographed, the last thing I think of is my cell phone. Likewise, when I need to make a phone call, the last thing I think of is my camera.

Who knows, you may be the first. Get the iPhone 12 Pro Max and give it a try. If it does what you want it to then sell your D750 and lenses or keep them as a reminder.

I'll use my cell if I don't have my camera with me.

Since I got my 11 Pro Max, I haven’t picked up my “real camera”. Not that it’s not close at hand for when I might want that 600 mm. But if I was forced to choose it’s the iPhone all the way.

99.9% of the time I leave the house, I have a camera with me.

I use what is appropriate and/or close at hand. Drone, A71, D5500 or A7c and RB645. I don't think I will ever "dump" any of the bodies I currently have, although I use the RB645 much less now that I can put its lenses on the A7c. "The best camera in the world is the one you have with you..."

If I’m going out for a drive or a walk, I’ll take one of my cameras, but I always have my iPhone 11 with me.

At one time my wife and I were in a camera club where we had themed monthly competitions. We had a B&W division, Color division, and digital division. Prints could be any size up to 16x20 but had to mounted with a 16x20 mat. Judging was done by a non-club member professional. There was a lot of pixel peeping and printing going on during that phase of our hobby. We have since moved from away from that community and no longer compete in photo competitions. I still use my DSLR but mostly for night photography. The last two long road trips we have taken I used my IPhone 95 percent of the time. I, like most long time hobby photographer's have thousands of images stored on back up drives that will never be printed and most will never be seen by anyone else. Most of my images today are posted in forum boards like this one or on social media. For me, my Iphone fullfills the task of doing that very nicely. The days of lugging my Big Boy camera around all day when we are travelling is pretty much over for me. Just my opinion on the subject, your milage may vary.
