Virus Jan

Just over four hours ago the first person in the World, outside clinical trials, had the first Corona Virus jab. It took place at Coventry University Hospital just 10 miles away from where I live.
Whilst there are of course many many millions to go Worldwide, let’s hope this can be seen as the beginning of the end.
Humorously, the second person to get the jab at the hospital was a William Shakespeare from Warwickshire, but clearly not the bard.

I am truly elated that patients are getting vaccinated. This is the beginning of the start of something worldwide wonderful. Hopefully we will all get back to living life probably a little different but nonetheless life

Corona Virus jab.
They just mentioned this on the morning news. Here we call it a "shot" but in the UK it's called a "jab". Did not know that before the news mentioned it.

We do not know how long the immunity lasts. We do not know about side effects that may show up in the long run. We do not know whether the virus will mutate enough to make the vaccine useless.

I will get vaccinated when it becomes available, but I won't assume that my life can resume normally (without masks, attendance at crowded indoor events).

In the mean time we can only applaud those scientists who beat all records to produce the vaccines in record time

SHOT sounds like bullets are involved. JAB is a bit friendlier term to use, especially around kids. “Now Johnny, it’s just a little jab.” vs. “Time for your shot, kid!”

We can also be glad that we had someone who saw the need and was able to put together the wherewithal to get it done. Do you know who I mean? I would be willing to bet that a lot do not know.

I know sure who you mean but in the UK it was Boris Johnson and his government who got both Oxford Univertisy and Imperial College. London to get the UK vaccine going
