No cars on the road adds to the remoteness and attraction of the scene. I've seen them on my road trips and like to photograph them for the effect and appeal to the senses.

Great shots. Love to drive on roads like that, just you and the open road. Pretty rare these days on major highways.

Again, very nice photographs, Mike. The one of the road leading to Monument Valley is one that I have on my list of photos to take. Though, I'd love to take it from the middle of the road, with a 4x5.
