Persevering and hopefully getting somewhere near it.
The images of which nightmares are made!
Not too shabby! The narrow DoF really draws the viewer to the eyes.
Unfortunately, even at f/20, image #1 is back-focused (behind the eyes). Image #3 is better, but still not tack sharp at eyes. This may be related to a shutter duration of 1/60-sec. Most of us shoot macro at 1/200-sec to reduce the effects of minor camera movement. Image #2 is your best focus on eyes.
With a 60-mm macro lens, you must have very little WD to capture these images. Well done.
Are you manually focusing, or A-F?

nice shots, did you see the baby ones on her back? tom
I was on manual with tamron 60mm lens. I had them on my kitchen bench, but unfortunately only flash on camera. Thank you all for the comments and of course I will continue and hopefully one day but I was happy as this was the best I had done so far. After the shots I put them back in the garden.

Do you mean manual exposure, manual focus, or both?
