Call Amazon. They are amazingly helpful. You also will not sit on hold forever.

My computer was hacked and I had trouble with Amazon even though I reported the hacking to Amazon and the credit card. I sent the computer ordered back the same day it came (hackers probably thought that they would be able to pick it up from the drop off before I got home). I was calling Amazon numerous times but noting happened as they locked my account. complained to the Better Business Bureau and all of a sudden the problem was cleared up. Still having problems with Amazon accepting my credit card so I files another complaint. Try the BBB if all else fails.

After the free month you have to contact them to say you no longer want prime. That's how they suck people into paying a monthly fee.

I canceled my free prime trial last year a few days before it was up, no problem............they gladly stopped it.

Most of the time, in fact, all of the time, if you read ALL the info. on Amazon Books, it will tell you that it is free for a month and then you automatically pay. Most folks understand that after the month is up you will pay.
I strongly suggest you call Amazon customer service at 1-888-280-3321

Lately when I call with a problem and if you can find their CS phone number they do not answer due to covid and you get a recording. Do you actually have a number?

Last month I ordered a new pair of men’s slippers for myself from Amazon. They sent a pair of woman’s sneakers.
I made a return order and sent them back and then reordered another pair from a different vendor. They came the next day. This time the order was right. The next day, a second pair came.
I called Amazon to tell them and they told me to keep the second pair as well.
That’s why I keep doing business with them.

Proof positive that a call to any company’s customer service should “always” be the first move.... With Amazon, that number can be tricky to find through their website. And that’s why there’s this little often not used technique called Google “Amazon customer service number” regardless of where you’re located.

That’s standard procedure with trial programs; no need to blame Amazon

1. On Amazon.com, log into your account and navigate to the top right corner of the page. Hover over your personalized greeting that reads "Account & Lists" and click on "Your Prime Membership" from the dropdown menu.

2. The left-hand side of the "Your Prime Membership" page will show your membership info, including your preferred payment card, the date your account is good through, as well an option to end your membership.

3. Look for the "End Membership and Benefits" option on the left side of the page and click on it.

They will try to convince you to stay. Just say no.
