Hand held at 700mm. Distance was about 200-250 feet away.
Canon R5. RF 100-500 1.4x - 1/2656 - f/10 - ISO @ 5000.
Regis, you knew he was diving for food but I see him as gliding on the wind current. SO graceful yet powerful. and the details are amazing, especially knowing he is moving. Exceptional work. I forget--do they winter with you in Coeur d'Alene?
Wow.....fantastic show. Love the details
Great capture and rendering. Please stay well and keep on sharing.

I thank you very much, Carlysue. No, most of the Eagles are migrating seeking spawning salmon to feed on. But, we have some permanent residents all year. The salmon came early this year and are dying-off, so the Bald Eagles will soon be disappearing to feed on salmon in other lakes. As you can tell, I bought a new Canon R5 camera that has a 'animal eye tracking' feature that automatically focuses on the animal or bird's eyes making it easier to get the bird in focus. Also, all animals, bees, fish, etc. and people can easily be in focus using their eyes as a focal point. My new RF 800mm lens is extremely sharp ($900) (weighs only 2.77 lbs.) and is comparable to the EF 800 f/5.6 lens ($12,900 and weighs almost 10 lbs.) So, my camera and lenses are lighter and easier to hand hold to get better pictures. This RF 100-500 lens I used to take this Eagle photo is also fairly light and can focus down to 3 feet. Take care.

Excellent shot! Love that background. really shows off the eagle.
Great catch. That new camera/lens combo is really working well for you!
