Hard to argue with real data, isn’t it? It doesn’t mean that a user should never use f16 or f22 anymore than a user should never use ISO 12,800, but it clearly shows there’s a very real price to be paid for smaller apertures - 10-20% of the acuity of the lens, which is not the insignificant amount you claim it to be, and this is with a FF - the effects are even more pronounced with smaller sensors. Frankly, I don’t know why you’re even arguing this well-known phenomena unless you genuinely feel that sharpness or acuity is irrelevant to photography or you just have some intrinsic need to be a contrarian in any discussion.
