I register my Nikon gear on Nikon's website. I got an email from them about a firmware update for my D500. It looks like it can now use CFexpress memory cards with the firmware update.

It's CFexpress cards that the camera can now use.

When I go to the Nikon D500 firmware update site, I only see the 1.2 update which I downloaded in March of 2019. Where is the new firmware located???

What is the advantage to using a CF card? Isn't that mush older technology?

CFExpress, not CF (Compact Flash). It was an error since corrected. These cards are faster (and right now even more expensive) than XQD cards. But it is an open standard, whereas XQD is a proprietary design. Cards may be easier to find, although I've never had a problem in my area.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I was very wrong in my post and thought. Thank you very much.
