I did not have a tape measure with me but I think this crab was less than 1 & 1/2 inches across. We see a lot of them but they usually scurry away quickly & disappear down a hole in the sand. This one just stayed there while I took it's picture & did not run away. The beach is in St. Andrew's State Park, Panama City Beach, FL.
