Went to Monroe Lake, Indiana on last Sunday and took some photos of vultures. Nikon D850 with Nikkor 500mm 5.6 PF. Thanks in advance for your viewing!
Beautiful captures of an amazing, handsome, useful bird. IMHO, there's not much ugliness in nature, just variety.
Certainly, there's an evolutionary, teleological advantage to its featherless head.

Great pictures, these are amazing creatures...
i could see being reincarnated as a vulture ... just cruise around, ride the thermals, look for babes, but then again, the menu part is kinda gross
Nice work photographing these birds.

Beautiful birds, your captures are excellent. Nature's clean up crew. An interesting fact, their excrement is sterile. Thanks for sharing these images.
Nice photos! Looks like you had Black Vultures and Turkey Vultures near each other.
Nice set. Even if it's of some of the ugliest birds on earth.

Great set of a very useful and "beautiful" bird.... I think if you asked a vulture what he/she thinks of humans....... well, I can only imagine the replies...bet they would be funny!

Not as gorgeous as birds of paradise, but who needs to look pretty when eating week old roadkill? . . .
