AD 1907 - Canadian Noah Brusso AKA Tommy Burns defeats Englishman James 'GUNNER' Moir by knockout in the tenth round at the NATIONAL SPORTING CLUB in London, England. Brusso retained the lineal world's heavyweight boxing championship.
AD 1982 - William Castle DeVries installed the first JARVIK-7 mechanical heart, designed by Robert Koffler Jarvik and Willem Johan Kolff, in patient Barney Clark.
The JARVIK-7 was an improvement over the first experimental artificial heart, used only in animals, developed by Clifford Stanley Kwan-Gett.
