Can't get out much, so I play in the studio when I get a chance. I thought, "You know? People take still life photos of flowers all the time. They are bright and pretty. Why not look at the beauty of flowers that are waning?" Still life fell right into that.

Still life photography is the depiction of inanimate subject matter, typically a small group of objects, similar to still life paintings. I became interested in this during the infamous lockdown as a way of keeping my sanity and then discovered that I enjoyed it. This challenge is to see how you folks see and do still life photography. I'm looking forward to your examples. Here are a few images to get things started.

Thanks for hosting, Sue. Your images always have such soothing warmish glow. I'm assuming you used a tripod.?

Glad you liked them. As for a tripod, about the only time I use one is when doing night shots that require a very slow shutter speed.
