Re licking postage stamps--there's a great scene in the play "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" in which an older character makes a reference to licking postage stamps and the younger man has no idea what he is talking about, which leads to an incredibly funny monologue about the way life used to be.

No idea who started this whole sticking your tongue all the way out like that among females the last handful of years, but it could go away any day and I'd be happy - always adds an aura of ignorance and trashiness to my eyes.

There is a procedure wherefore a doctor will cut that l ligament that connects the tongue to the jaw.
Ir is believed that this will improve the "latch" ability of a baby to help it feed.
Especially for some also whose tongues appear to fill their mouths a bit more than usual.
There is a genetic anomaly towards this; checked by using your tongue at the juncture of the lip to jaw.
But sometimes the cut is too much, or the baby wasn't quite developed yet at the time.
Or like two of my friends, who came back from the dentist and said "Well, ya know ..."
I myself have a short fat tongue, and a small ligament at these junctures.
Alas I'm too old to appreciate the social benefits from this.
