Thanks for that, so interesting. I have aquariums too but not a microscope to see any biofilm that may occur.

If you have a DSLR you can buy an adapter to fool the camera into thinking it has a lens then add a microscope objective.

while his shows a bellows, I think I recall seeing other conversions using extension tubes.

I imagined what some of the images would look like in false color converting from the shade of gray.

Thanks, I will look into it, I had a kids' microscope as a child and got endless fun looking at things that sucked and blew in a few drops of stagnant water.

Microscopes are a lot better nlow. For $100 to $200 you can get a good pro grade instrument that magnifies at least 1000 times. The fun is finding all the tricks for altering the light.

i stopped being interested in ordinary photography--it seemed conventional and repititious, I found a new world opening up with the microscope.
