I belong to the Southern California Railway Museum in the operations department. Our working steamer is a 1922 Baldwin 2-6-2 "Prairie" type. Though the museum does own older locomotives they are hoping to run sometime in the future. They have both of Ward Kimball's former backyard (big backyard) locos. An 1881 2-6-0 and a 1907 0-4-2T - both built by Baldwin. Kimball's family ran them in San Gabriel until they were given to the museum. The museum steam crew maintains both of them and restores/replaces parts to keep both in first rate condition. They hope to one day have enough 3' gauge track to fire them up and run them again.
