The assassination of John F. Kennedy,
November 22nd, 1963. A bookmark day for many of my generation.
It's a day that we will always remember.
Sure can and i can even remember where I was at the moment I heard the news. I was turning off of I-10 at Pomona Blvd. on my way to class at Mt. SAC Jr. College. School was cancelled until after his funeral. Can remember being glued to the TV most of the time listening to the news. A very sad day for our Nation.
Was pulling into the parking lot of the site of an English Lit class at Univ of Texas RGV ( then Pan American College). Listening to report on car radio. When I walked into class no one else knew; I had to inform them.
I had a doctor's appointment and was sitting in the waiting room when I heard over the radio, "it is confirmed that President John F. Kennedy is dead". I don't even like to think about it.
I was in my 3rd year of teaching 6th grade near Seattle. A fellow teacher opened my door and said the President had been shot. I immediately turned on the radio, and my students and I spent the rest of the day following the news. I made the decision that 6th graders were old enough to benefit from following this tragic, grave, wrong, and historic event in real time. Frank
I was too young to remember. I was two years old. I barely remember the Assassination of Robert Kennedy. That decade was very tumultuous. It’s hard to believe we all survived.

I was 4 years old and remember running into the kitchen to tell my mom that "something bad" happened. Yes, I saw it but didn't understand at the time what I had seen. A very sad day!!!

I was in high school at the time. As I am typing this reply it all coming back to me like it was just yesterday. I remember the people, smells of the school building. For a week I was walking around like I was in another world. After a few years I came to believe that it was the work of one person, I still believe that to this day. We can believe that one person can do great things, but we can't hand the fact that one person can do should evil.
It is among the days that are indelibly etched into my memory! The 1960s were difficult years!

I was in the 6th grade, eating lunch when my teacher, Mrs. Clayton, made the announcement.

Being a Massachusetts boy, saw the family often...in fact from some parade, my sister, being a majorette, still has a baton that John, Bobby, and Teddy signed.
Oh those many years ago !
On that fateful day, we were playing soccer on the fields of Dudley Jr. High...kid ran out screaming the news, but, like misheard song lyrics, had no idea what he meant, until we ran back to school.
While it doesn't seem like yesterday, to me, it does, in fact, seem like the day AFTER yesterday !
Junior in high school sitting in English class when the office put it on over the intercom system. School was cancelled for the rest of the day. I don't remember if it was cancelled until after the funeral or not but, we were off the day of the funeral. I remember watching the funeral & seeing John Jr. saluting his father's coffin.
