Rainy weather in the PNW! Note the colors on these two Anna's Hummingbirds. The first with a D850, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 FL at 1/1000, f 3.2, ISO 4000, no EV 200mm handheld. The second D500, 500pF, 1/500, f 5.6, ISO 2800, handheld no EV or filters.

The rose bud opened after some sub-freezing nights, in the rain. Shot with flash and without. D850, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8, FL at 1/250 flash sync, f 6.3, ISO 100. Without flash 1/125, f 6.3, ISO 1100. No EV or other light augmentation. Late afternoon (After 4:30 PM PST, PNW) so low light. Handheld.

I believe the mushroom to be a Grisette or Amanita xanthocephala. D850, Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 FL at 1/250x, f 6.3, ISO 230. Flash SB700. This is a large fungus, over 3 inches in diameter! Handheld!

Thanx for viewing! Trying to show the different colors these birds display, other than the red head or green back!

Beautiful!! Which really demonstrates that rain can be an asset, and overcast a blessing for a photographer willing to risk getting wet.

I live in Olympia, but let's not let everyone know how beautiful the Northwest can be in the winter! :) :) (Just kidding....come and share paradise.)

Thanx for viewing and commenting! I agree. Heading out tomorrow (Saturday, November 21, 2020) to Belfair State Park, again. Hopefully not raining like last week! I do not mind the rain but the gear can get a bit touchy and decide to not work in too much wet.
