Just got an email notifying me of a general price increase to $13.99. A $3 price increase for what? I know prices do tend to go up, but not with all the new competition out there. It's time to re-think Netflix on principle alone.

I just signed up for Netflix this month. To start with they charged more than was quoted which did not make me happy. Their closed captions is smaller than any other streaming service I have. The volume has to be turned up higher than any other streaming service. No problem turning up the volume except when you turn it off you get blasted from the regular t.v. channel. I am not pleased with them and if the price is going up I will certainly cancel.

I believe you can change the size and color of the captions. I used closed captions for everything, and different systems have different options.

Why an increase? More profit. My cable bill went up $15 - for nothing.

I'm paying Netflix $12.99/mo now.

I don't understand why people are complaining about Netflix's price increase.
If that bothers you so much, cancel your service or don't sign up for it.
I have it and Amazon Prime Video. I think for the price and what you get for it, it's a good value.
I get to watch what I want and don't have to see any stupid commercials.

I was wondering about that volume problem. On normal TV my volume level is at 15, but when I watch Netflix it has to be at 65! I also notice that it frequently freezes in the middle of a show and I get a message to try again later. Is this a bandwith problem?

Profits pay the bills. Salary, matching SS contributions, matching Medicare contributions. Unemployment benefits. All of the other little things you never think of that you need for a job and a place to work. I did start to buy Netflix in 2011. I was having lunch and I overheard the 3 people sitting next to us talking "business" When they left the guy who paid the bill told the waiter," I tipped the bill here is a better one, buy Netflix." I went back to my office and checked on this company,....no one knew about it, It was not on a buy or recommend list. I called my broker and staring buying the company. I continued to buy the company until mid-2012. Still own it. As I am now a legal resident of New Hamshire I will in 2021 start a slow sell-off.
So keep paying Netflix!! Terminate in August 2021.

Strangely I have the exact opposite problem on Netflix and Prime. The volume has to be turned down by at least half from other input sources. There might be something in the sound settings that isn't set just right.

It's the price creep that all these companies engage in. YES I can cancel. I'm just pointing out that before you know it everything has doubled in price SLOWLY. Too much competition to be trapped. That's all I'm sayin.

That was happening to us, thought it was bandwith, but we had to upgrade our Roku and that solved the problem.

You bought Netflix for the great original shows they produce and put out there for you to watch. Your money goes to paying for those shows.
I watch Netflix more than any other “channel” at this time. My daughter, grandkids, and mother-in-law share the signal. It’s a great product.

If you are having audio problems on one cable TV channel, odds are that is a cable provider problem, not your TV.
New cable story: My wife was discussing with our cable provider the price of increasing our internet speed. The cable guy wasn't budging on the increase cost. Wife was using the speaker on the phone. We played good cop, bad cop. She was playing good cop. I said in a loud voice, "Just hang up, we'll call xxxxx cable company". Thank goodness we do have two local cable companies. Cable guy said he would hang up and call back. A short time later he called back and gave a much better price for the increase in internet speed. Good thing he didn't call by bluff. Other cable company isn't worth squat. We now have 100 mps plus via the Wi-Fi all over the house.

This is a very good point. When you amortize the cost on a per person/user basis it's a pretty good deal. I "buy" my son's annual subscription for him as a Christmas present and he, like you, shares it with his family + me.
