Addressing those Christmas cards

When addressing your Christmas cards, do not put apostrophe s after the name. Ex: The Jacksons
1234 Main St.
Anywhere, Anystate.
If you put an apostrophe, it's like sending a Christmas card to the house and not the Jacksons.
In other words, Jacksons is plural not possessive.
See attached.

Christmas is very simple for me. No decorating, no cards, no shopping. I give my daughter money and that's it. I really celebrate no holidays. I'm just a boring old hermit scrooge. If I had grandchildren things would be much different.

I have a pal who, when she writes my birthday card , always puts my name "audrey"..... I have explained that it is not correct, but she still does it. LOL

It’s been called the perfect country song - « You Never Even Called Me By My Name » sung by David Allen Coe.

Might be 3rd grade stuff but the upcoming generations were never taught this stuff like us old folks were

Well, you’re right about this and I’m generally REALLY picky when it comes to grammar, punctuation, etc.. HOWEVER, if someone takes the time to send us a Christmas card I’m willing to cut them some slack for an incorrect apostrophe.
Just my 2 cents😊

It might be 3rd grade stuff, but I've read college graduates' job applications where they apparently hadn't learned that high a level of proper grammar.
