I have not been really happy with Photos on my iPhone. I can arrange my photos into albums but I haven't found a way to arrange the albums so they get ordered the way I want them when I bring up Photos. So I guess I need a cataloging app too.

Can you tap on a photo and then send it to a named album? Our can you drag and drop it in a named album?

I have no problem placing photos into albums of choice. The problem is that when I look at the albums, the albums are displayed in what appears to be the order they were created. I would like the albums displayed the way I choose, not the way the iPhone chooses.

DirtFarmer, if you go to “albums” and then “see all” tap “edit” you should be able to drag the album to the position you would prefer. Hope that’s what you’re after.

Got that to work. Thanks Marg. When you hit edit you have to find the album you want to move and hold your finger on it for a couple seconds, then you can drag it around.

I'm a Windows/Android guy. Got the iPhone because my new wife had one and texts between Apple and Android sometimes took 24 hours to get across. My contract was up and I went on a business trip and forgot my phone so I switched. Still not completely used to the differences.

Glad to be able to help! And you are a smart fellow to go the way of your new wife!

If you are a Lightroom Classic user, you may want to explore using Lightroom. This version of the family can share selected pictures among all of your devices. There is a desktop, android, and iOS version.

FWIW

My Sister in law has one of those sayings in her Kitchen "If Mama ain't happy, Ain't nobody happy". It was too late for me before I saw it.. Oh well.. Thanks for the comments.

Your welcome, Ron! I’ve received so much benefit here on the hog it’s nice to be able to give some for a change. 😊

I use Photos and I often change the order of both albums and folders by clicking and dragging! However, I can only click and drag ONE such folder/album at a time.
