Sean Connery, Alex Trebek, no mandate for either side....
2020, just sucked.
2020 has become the year that many want to forget ever happened.
2020 is the year in which we lost way too many people because of the uncontrolled spread of the C****av***s P******c.
A spread which could have been slowed to a crawl if the current administration had mounted a Nationwide Coordinated effort to slow the spread by stepping up their efforts to get states to mandate face masks and solcial distancing.
But the current administration was laser focused on reopening the Economy without any thought about how to safely reach that goal.
The P******c is raging all across the country, and it's now getting to the point where hospitals are becoming overrun with C****-** patients, and it's not just a number of beds available, but it's also a lack of qualified staffing at those hospitals which is causing the problem.
Without qualified staffing, hospitals will have to start triaging patients to decide who'll get treatment, and who will be sent home to die. There are instances of patients being t***sfered hundreds of miles away to just a handful of available beds to gain treatment.
Many states are virtually out of treatment space. Field hospitals are again being set up to take overflow patients, and the Military is again being called upon to staff hospitals and field hospitals. Remember that many of those military personnel are reservists who also work full-time at hospitals in and around their home towns.
The current spikes are worse than the original spike we saw last spring.
When are all of the residents of the United States going to take the P******c seriously and as a whole wear face masks and social distance?
Herd immunity has always been the goal of the current administration, they were never interested in slowing the spread of the v***s. They were never seriously interested in providing PPE to the entire country. They gave up when they came out with "Operation Warp Speed" this summer.
There MIGHT be a viable v*****e on the horizon, but the sheer logistics of getting the P****r v*****e from the lab, to production, to Hospitals, Clinics, and Pharmacies is a daunting task. The trump promise of having the v*****e ready to distrubute in December is nothing more than a pipedream.
The super cold freezers needed to store and t***sport the P****r v*****e are not produced within the United States. Why isn't the trump administration working on getting these freezers manufactured in the United States?
Right now, one alternative would be Liquid Nitrogen. But that's colder than the range needed by the P****r v*****e. Will the P****r v*****e hold up if Liquid Nitrogen is used to t***sport it?
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Quanza, and New Years Eve gagtherings all need to be re-thought and become virtual events this year. Boston has already cancelled their "First Night" celebration as an in person event. Boston is also going virtual with their Chrisrtmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies.
Over a month ago, I sent my regrets to my annual Thanksgiving gathering with family and friends, choosing instead to stay home to avoid becoming a victim of a super spreader event. I'm not being selfish, I'm doing my part to stop the spread. I'm not the only usual attendee who has chosen to stay home this year. At lease one other couple has made that decision due to health reasons. I haven't heard if the hosts of the usual event will set up a virtual gathering and recipe swap yet after I suggested it, but there's still time for that to happen.
Everyone needs to be wearing face masks EVERY time they leave the confines of their homes, and needs to do their part to social distance. That means staying away from indoor venues.
There will be those who argue that by keeping businesses closed it's putting people out of business.
Well, if the GOP and the trump adminstration had done their jobs last spring, we wouldn't be facing this
THIRD surge of C****-** V***s infections. They FAILED in their jobs, so now the residents of the United States are suffering because of their failures.
Early interventions in the second round of spikes have been proven to be instrumental in keeping the infection rates in a controlable range. That has meant that states have either paused reopening plans, or rolled back some of their reopening plans.
Skating rinks in New England have shut down, reopened, and shut down again because of spiking infection rates among their athletes, coaches, and parents. That's what happens when everyone doesn't stick to the protocols set out by health officials.
Follow the protocols and safely reopen, or flaunt the rules and suffer the consequences. The v***s doesn't follow city/town, county, or state boundries, it freely flows because residents don't stick close to home to run errands or shop.
As I've previously stated, I live in a tax-free state border town, and over 75% of the vehicles in each parking lot I go to have out of state plates. Although most of the shoppers do wear face masks, it's not a 100% compliance, especilly outside of the buildings.
Personally, I put on my face mask before I open my car door to get out while I'm on my shopping trips. And yes I do shut off outside air circulation when I'm driving most of the time, especially when I'm sitting at a stoplight in traffic, even if I have to completely shut off the air circulation system and close my windows because a vehicle beside, in front, or behind me has their windows open.
