Interesting catch, Dave. BTW, one of the earliest recorded uses of the hoarfrost was in 1290ce. The difference between hoarfrost and rime is that hoarfrost forms during clear nights and rime forms during fog. Rime should not be confused with rhime, which is the obsolete form of the word rhyme.
