Hi guys a simple question but here goes. Always shot in jpeg. With a Nikon 7200 when you have your camera set to raw + jpeg with the 2 cards in, does each image show up on each card? I would imagine it does.
Thanks

You have menu options to control that. Generally it isn’t the default.
In the D7200 shooting menu you can set slot 2.

Page 35 of the D7200 Menu Guide
On my D7200 :
Raw files are saved to the 64GB card in slot 1
JPG files are saved to the 32GB card in slot 2
In the Photo Shooting Menu:
-Role played by card in Slot 2 is set -- RAW Slot 1 - JPEG Slot 2
-Image Quality is set for NEF(RAW) + JPEG fine
-Image size is set for Large
This way if one card fails you still have a decent file to fall back on.

Thanks for the info. I will set mine up.

YES, one card will contain Jpeg, and the other card will contain RAW files.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
PS. on some camera's this double dipping can change your frame rate, in other words, on some camera's doing dual slot saving may decrease your frames per second but also your buffer, always consult your manual.
Thanks Bill for the info.
When properly done the RAW will be on Card 1 and the JPEG on Card 2. That’s how I have mine set up.

Exactly the same for me in my D7200, except jpeg normal
As I shoot HS sports which generally need quick posting and are generally one view and done by the parents, I utilize the jpegs for very quick almost “auto adjust and crop” edits for quick social media posts. 90% of the shots stop here. I keep the raws for any shot i (or a parent) wants to be able to print Or publish
I also do notice the frame rate and buffer size limits with the dual saves. That said, I like the “backup” function of the dual card slots

Take a shot; look at the SD cards afterward; you'll know then.

In the menu you select " Role played by card in shoot 2". I have mine set for backup.
You can set it for overflow, so when card 1 gets full it transfers to card 2.
Or, you can set it raw on 1 and jpg on 2.
If a card fails, when it writes to both, you still will have the backups. I only shoot raw unless I want or need an immediate photo for some reason.
