This guy has been hanging around all week but never lands. He doesn't fly smooth like other dragonflies..he actually fly's with a wiggle. I have never seen one with the dark markings on his wings, they are the same on both sides. Since he was perched on the top of the tree I couldn't get a picture from his back side.

Great shots and just to add to the information - There is a Black Saddlebags in your area as well, Tramea lacerata, but it is also found here in the east. The Red Saddlebags, Tramea onusta, is mostly found from the Mississippi River west and south of a center line through the US, although they do wander to the eastern south coast. There is also a Carolina Saddlebags, Tramea carolina, which is very similar to the Red Saddlebags found here in the east. Great find, I have only found the Black, but don't have an image yet.
