Ebay has issued an alert about fraudulent activity generated from Spain. The seller: <Judri-6265> is selling photographic equipment at prices far below real values, usually $39.99. Seller Number: 393010009330.
Beware!

This does not come as a surprise. What comes as a surprise is that Ebay has not done something about it.
Perhaps this person can cheat on a novice but those who know photography are well aware that if the price looks too cheap most probably it is a scam.

Oooh! I guess I won't be waiting for the UPS truck.

I'm very careful buying on eBay. It's good that they pointed out the scammer. Are they letting this scammer stay on the site? If not, why the warning? If they didn't dump him, why not?

We really have to stay with the established sellers to be safe.

I just keep reminding myself: If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Ebay has removed the scammer and generally their site has been clean. Yet, it's always wise to remain vigilant and check the seller's credentials and even question those with 100% rating. The truth is that most people try to inflate the value of their products and don't consider this cheating. Without a doubt, Ebay still offers valuable service in its vast sites where we can all get at the very least information as well as access to things we need.

How does Ebay issue these alerts? Do they email all registered users?

They try not to create a panic and notify only those directly affected and after removing the scammer. As you can imagine, a general alert to millions of users will certainly have a very negative effect.

I have purchased lenses on EBay multiple times and have always been totally satisfied. It’s buyer beware and know what you’re buying.

I've acquired many things on eBay, as in all things, buyer be aware. eBay has gotten much better over the years at protecting buyers.
